Author Visits
I. Get Real! presentation focusing on nonfiction writing. Discover the stories behind the stories in my books. (45 minutes, with a 10-minute Q&A session)
Topics include: Identifying ideas, developing those ideas into stories, and literary techniques for adding spark and strength to writing.
II. ER Vets: Life in an Animal Emergency Room presentation highlighting the stories and writing process behind my latest book. (30 minutes, with a 10-minute Q&A session)
Before the visit
1. Prepare students.
Please ensure that my books are available to them before I present so they
know my work. If the books are not available in your school or local library, please let me know.
2. Organize a book sale.
Books can be ordered and sold through the publisher -- I can provide details -- or sales can be coordinated with a
local bookseller.
After the visit
Have students write to me after the visit. I'd love to hear from you and them!
